PCWA Annual Report
Serving Placer County since 1957, PCWA plans, builds, and maintains the infrastructure that delivers safe drinking water, supports agriculture, and generates clean hydroelectric power. Through careful stewardship of the American River watershed and long-term investment in our systems, we work every day to ensure a reliable water future for our communities.
From the General Manager
Planning ahead. Working together. Delivering reliability.
At Placer County Water Agency, reliable water doesn’t happen by chance — it comes from long-term planning, local investment, and strong partnerships.
While weather conditions varied throughout the year, snowpack ultimately finished near average — an unusual change after several years of extremes. It was a reminder that reliable water systems must be built to perform in all conditions, not just favorable ones.
Early in the year, devastating wildfires in Southern California heightened awareness and raised questions locally about water reliability and emergency response. In response, PCWA increased outreach to help customers better understand how our water systems work, how we invest in infrastructure to maintain reliable service, and the role partnerships play in coordinating emergency response. We shared this information through community meetings and our new Fire & Water video and annual publication, working closely with local fire districts, CAL FIRE, and regional partners.
